Stage 1 completed-Pelican Lagoon Restoration Project

Starting in 2006 – Friends of Oxley Common worked in conjunction with the Department of Public Works and the Brisbane City Council to remove the aquatic weed Salvinia from Pelican Lagoon.  An aquatic weed harvester boat has now taken off the bulk of the Salvinia.  The money from the Federal Water Grant was used to re-vegetate the area surrounding Pelican Lagoon and produce a wetland management plan.
